Your documents

The editor reads and processes PDFs in this browser tab. The application does not upload your documents, send document text to an advertising service, or keep a server copy. Download your work before you close or refresh the tab. Downloads are saved to the location managed by your browser.

Resume tools and local AI

Resume PDFs and DOCX files are parsed in browser memory. The ATS checker, converter, editor, spelling review and exports do not upload documents or extracted text. The optional free AI job comparison downloads the open-source MiniLM model from Hugging Face, then runs inference on your device. It does not call a hosted AI inference service, require an API key, or use resumes for training.

The model download makes ordinary network requests to Hugging Face and its file-delivery providers; they can receive your IP address and the model URLs, but not your resume or job-description text. OCR downloads its language model separately. Internet access is required for the first download, and models may remain cached by your browser.

Resume documents, generated drafts, analysis and undo history are not saved to application storage. Use Clear all data to remove them from the tab, or close the tab. Downloaded copies remain on your device until you delete them. Clear browser site data to remove cached models. No resume files are retained on the server. No antivirus scanning service is used; the local reader validates document types, sizes and archive expansion limits and rejects recognized macros.

Website requests

Visiting the website makes network requests to the hosting provider. Like other websites, these requests include information such as your IP address, browser information and the requested URL. The application has no user accounts or analytics dashboard.

Fonts are requested from Google Fonts. The scanned PDF editor loads its English recognition model from this site. The OCR extraction tool downloads language models from tessdata.projectnaptha.com. Both recognize text on your device. Browser caches may retain website code, fonts and language models.

Advertising

When advertising is active, labeled ads can appear below the homepage catalog and tool instructions. Google may also show a skippable full-screen ad when you follow a link between pages. You can edit and download your files for free.

When ads are active, Google and its advertising partners may collect information such as IP address, device/browser details and ad interactions. They may use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement and, where consent permits, personalization. PDF contents and filenames are not supplied as advertising parameters.

Your advertising choices

When advertising is enabled, Google's privacy messages present the consent and opt-out choices available for your region. Use the privacy or cookie settings link on the homepage to revisit available choices. You can also manage personalization through Google My Ad Center and manage cookies in your browser. Rejecting optional advertising consent does not restrict the PDF tools.

Changes

This page is updated when the website's handling of documents or advertising changes. The date above identifies the latest update.

Website visitor count

The public total counts browsers from the day the counter went live. On your first visit, your browser sends a random code to PDFeditly. The counter stores a hash of that code, and your browser remembers that it has been counted. Refreshing or opening another tool does not count you again. Using a different browser or clearing this site's storage can count you again. The counter receives no document contents or filenames and stores no IP addresses. Browsers with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled only read the total.
